Turan Sahinkaya Excelling in the Sport of Soccer

Turan Sahinkaya excelled in the sport of soccer from an early age, almost a given considering that he came from a family of world-class soccer players for many generations. Sahinkaya’s family enrolled him at the esteemed Juventus Football Club where Turan Sahinkaya blossomed as a speedy and technically gifted winger and midfielder.

Turan Sahinkaya spent his summers playing for Juventus Football Club, which at the time was coached by Giovanni Trapattoni – a friend of the Sahinkaya family.  Trapattoni eventually left Juventus to pursue a coaching opportunity with Bayern Munich, based in Germany.

At a crossroads in his career, Turan Sahinkaya moved to Istanbul, Turkey to play for Fenerbache Sports Club for several years. He followed in the footsteps of all five of his uncles by playing soccer at the professional level.

Turan Sahinkaya learned many of his technical skills in soccer from his youngest uncle, Gungor Sahinkaya, who was a top-notch player for FC Cologne (Germany) and Trabzsonspor (Turkey). Turan Sahinkaya attributes his ability to progress in the sport of soccer to the many training techniques he learned in Europe.

Sahinkaya utilized his skills in the sport of soccer to enhance his educational goals by playing soccer for the University of California at Berkeley. Turan Sahinkaya spent three years playing varsity soccer and during his last year at the University of California at Berkeley he decided to play Rugby to honor his grandfather’s wishes. Sahinkaya’s grandfather was a world champion Rugby player for the New Zealand All Blacks. He also played for the country of New Zealand and was a World Cup of Rugby Champion.

Turan Sahinkaya spent his summers coaching select youth soccer in the San Francisco Bay Area for such powerhouse youth teams as Ballistic United of Pleasanton, California, Sunnyvale United Spartans of Sunnyvale, California, and Peninsula United Soccer Club of Belmont, California. Turan Sahinkaya has coached 3 different Northern California State Champion soccer teams as well as coached in over 47 youth select tournaments.

Turan Sahinkaya has a deep passion for life that extends outside of the world of business to his family, soccer, rugby, coaching, entrepreneurship opportunities, and volunteer work.

Turan Sahinkaya played professional soccer in Europe at the age of 16 for Juventus Football Club for 5 years and Fenerbache Sport Club for 4 years. Mr. Sahinkaya comes from a large family of professional soccer players from top European clubs and National teams throughout England, Italy, Russia, Turkey, and Germany. As a youth growing up in Europe, Turan Sahinkaya spent his early childhood playing soccer for the prestigious Juventus Youth Football Club in Turin, Italy.  Sahinkaya’s parents named him after this great city in Italy.

Turan Sahinkaya is a graduate of University of California at Berkeley with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, where he proudly represented his University playing 3 years Varsity soccer and 1 year Varsity Rugby. He was part of the championship rugby team that won the NCAA–defeating Army.  This was an especially proud moment for his grandfather who was a renowned player for the New Zealand All Blacks for over 10 years and who went on to win several World Cups for New Zealand.

Turan Sahinkaya went on to earn a Master of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
